Nebahat Avcıoğlu is an Associate Professor of Art History at Hunter College (CUNY). She earned her BA in Architecture from Istanbul Technical University and her Ph.D. in History of Art from the University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on Islamic architecture, Ottoman culture, and cross-cultural artistic exchanges, particularly in the eighteenth century. She has held fellowships at Harvard (Aga Khan Fellow), Dumbarton Oaks, Oxford University, and Columbia University.
