Ahlam Muhtaseb is a Professor of Media Studies at California State University, San Bernardino and a Senior Data Justice Fellow with Princeton’s Ida B. Wells Just Data Lab. She holds an M.A. in Journalism and a Ph.D. in Communication Studies from the University of Memphis. Her research focuses on digital media, Arab American representation, activism, and social justice, and she is also an award‑winning filmmaker. In 2024, she received the Distinguished Woman of the Year award and the Activism and Social Justice Scholarly Influence Award from the National Communication Association.
