Maryam Farboodi is an Associate Professor of Finance at the MIT Sloan School of Management. She is an applied theorist whose research explores the economics of big data, with applications to finance and macroeconomics. Her work develops methodologies to estimate the value of data, and she studies financial intermediation, network formation among institutions, and spillovers to the real economy. She also examines how information frictions shape local and global economic cycles through credit market structures.
