Hesham M. Abdel-Rahman was an Emeritus Professor of Economics at the University of New Orleans (UNO) and held the title of Louisiana Real Estate Commission Professor of Economics. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and specialized in urban and regional economics, real estate, city systems and trade, urban land use, location theory, and economic growth. His scholarship appeared in leading journals such as the Journal of Urban Economics and Journal of Regional Science. He also served as a visiting professor at Kyoto University and presented invited papers worldwide.
