Ahmad Karimi-Hakkak is an Adjunct Professor of Persian Literature at UCLA. He is a prominent scholar of Persian literature and Iranian studies, born in Mashhad, Iran in 1944. He earned his Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Rutgers University, after completing degrees in English Literature at the University of Tehran and the University of Missouri–Kansas City.
