Ahmed El Kaffas is an Associate Professor at UC San Diego and the founder of the Translational Ultrasound Lab (TUL). He trained in engineering and biophysics, with extensive translational and clinical research experience at the Sunnybrook Research Institute (University of Toronto) and Stanford University. At UCSD, he leads a multidisciplinary team of physicists, biologists, engineers, and clinical fellows. His lab focuses on expanding the use of medical ultrasound both within and beyond radiology.
