Sierra Leone is a country in West Africa with a population of nearly 9 million people which includes the 80% Muslim population. Unfortunately, similar to much of the Ummah in today’s climate, the Muslim population in Sierra Leone still feels the effects from the colonial past and the 10-year civil war. This has taken a toll on the people, both spiritually and economically. Imagine a country where most of the individuals lack fundamental knowledge about Islam and its core values. Hence, it is very crucial for us to act now as one body to protect the Ummah.
