Ali Javey is the Lam Research Distinguished Chair in Semiconductor Processing and a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences and Materials Science and Engineering at UC Berkeley. He is also a Senior Faculty Scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where he leads the Electronic Materials program. His research focuses on materials and device innovation for photovoltaics, wearable sensors, nanoelectronics, and programmable materials. Javey earned his Ph.D. in chemistry from Stanford University and was a Junior Fellow of the Harvard Society of Fellows before joining Berkeley.
