Ali Mirsepassi is the Albert Gallatin Research Excellence Professor of Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies at NYU. He also serves as Director of the Hagop Kevorkian Center for Near Eastern Studies and leads the Iranian Studies Initiative. His work focuses on intellectual history, sociology, and modern Iranian politics. He has authored books such as Iran’s Quiet Revolution (2019), Iran’s Troubled Modernity (2018), and Democracy in Modern Iran (2011). Mirsepassi was a Carnegie Scholar (2007–2009) and co‑edits The Global Middle East series with Cambridge University Press.
