Ali Sanati is an Associate Professor of Finance, Kogod Research Professor, and the Director of MS in Finance program at the Kogod School of Business, American University. He joined AU in 2018 after earning his PhD in Finance from the University of Minnesota. He also holds an MBA and a BSc in Engineering. His research focuses on firms’ financing decisions, inefficiencies in capital raising, and investments in public and private capital markets.
