Amani Hassan is a Clinical Associate Professor of Arabic in NYU’s College of Arts and Science, where she directs the Arabic Language Program. She has taught Arabic at NYU since 2003, moving from Language Lecturer to Senior Lecturer before her current role. Hassan earned her M.A. in Comparative Literature from NYU and also studied at Ain Shams University in Egypt. Her teaching covers all levels of Arabic, with a focus on modern usage, culture, and pedagogy. She is widely respected for shaping the Arabic curriculum and mentoring students in Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies.
