She is a Professor of Law who taught at UCLA School of Law, specializing in public international law, human rights, laws of war, and comparative constitutional law. She also served as the founding faculty director of the Promise Institute for Human Rights and directed the UCLA Center for Near Eastern Studies. In 2022, she joined the Yale Law School faculty as Professor of Law. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Princeton University and a J.D. from Yale Law School.
