began to work on farms, and like many Canadians they laboured many hours to make a better life for their family and children.
In 1987, Cor and Pat were approached by some partners to buy a poultry company. As the company progressed through the highs and lows, they developed a passion for the food industry and eventually bought 100 percent control and renamed it DeBoer’s Poultry. They began to lay a strong foundation for the future of the business, and along with their son Chris, opened a new poultry processing facility. The new facility gained federally inspected status and met meat regulations in an accredited HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) operated facility. DeBoer’s continues to produce their main product lines at this facility operating at 4485 Harvester Road in Burlington, Ontario.
In 2010, Chris took over ownership from his parents to keep the company 100% family owned and operated. Taking the advice of his parents, Chris has built a strong team with his Director of Operations along with production and quality control management. Since 1988 ISNA® Canada has been providing Halal Certification Services (HCS) to the Muslim communities not only in Canada and the United States but throughout the Muslim world. ISNA® Canada developed its Halal Logo to be put on the packages certified by it to assure the Muslims that package contains the Halal food.
Certification work has expanded considerably to provide a better and credible assurance for all kinds of Halal food for the Muslims not only in Canada but for the rest of the world.
HCS is entrusted with the responsibilities of Halal Food certification being produced and manufactured in Canada in the United States and is branded with the ISNA® Canada Halal Logo.
From 2017, any Halal Certification, previously undertaken by ISNA® Halal Certification Agency (HCA) is transferred to ISNA Canada – Halal Certification Services (HCS).
