Women are the building blocks of society, thus stronger women will result in stronger societies. Our goal at EMWON, Empowered Muslim Women of New York is to help women develop and use their skills to their fullest potential. We do that by giving them the tools that help them excel as leaders in government, businesses, the workplace, and even just in their daily lives as mothers, daughters, and wives. EMWON will host a series of programs focusing on mental health, domestic violence, business development, higher education, finance, government, self-defense, and the legal and immigration issues as well as healthcare providers and the most important social gatherings where community can enjoy, learn and outreach with other communities. These programs aim to provide exposure, mentorship, and confidence to women with the hope that empowered women will go on to develop better communities.
