It is impossible to improve on Divine Design, and that is why we work to harness it. Our food system is a gift from the creator and when we submit to His way (and not insist on “our way”) the benefits are exponential.
The relationship between soil, animal well being and our health are tightly interwoven. We believe if we are truly do God’s work in this life, then we need to nourish ourselves and our families with food produced God’ way.
As we all can witness, that food has come to be anonymous, mass produced, and far from anything that our Creator intended for us to eat. Then, these questions come to mind. Do we know where our food come from? Do we know what the animal; whom meat we eat; is fed, injected with, or what quality of life it experiences? We think we should. And if we don’t actually know honor food is grown, then there’s a good chance we are not buying or consuming what we think we’re getting!
Our goal at Halal-N-Tayyib is to produce food that we feel good about feeding to ourselves and our children – food that is grown responsibly, sustainably, and ethically according to Allah’s brilliant design. We believe that there is a better way – a higher calling if you will – that we truly are or will become what we eat!
Guided by our faith and inspired by our journey to eat that which is Halal and pure (Tayyib) healthier food, we want to bring our experiences providing our favorite meats to you. We started Halal-N-Tayyib because we struggled about how hard it is to find true Halal hand slaughtered Zabiha and Tayyib (grass-fed/pasture-raised organic) meats for our own family. We got tired of the low quality of so called Halal meat we used to buy from the market. The more we learned and became informed about the reality of the food in general we used to consume, the more determined we became about growing our own food or sourcing it form local farmers when we can’t. We started gardening following organic permaculture methods. We had great success alhamdulillah following Paul Gautschi‘s on how to grow a regenerative organic garden following his gardening methods. We were able to grow organic vegetable and fruits all year long on our small homestead’s garden. We also raised chickens that helped us make rich compost for our garden and give us nutritious eggs as a bonus. At this time, we have stopped buying meat from the Halal markets because we don’t know anything about where it sourced from and how the animals were raised and treated in addition to how thy were slaughtered. We went for a whole year not eating beef. See our homestead picture gallery here.

In 2014, our founder Rachid Chafyaay with his wife’s help started raising meat chickens. After a lot of research, they decided to follow Joel Salatin’s model of raising chickens on pasture. The birds were pasture raised by moving them every day to eat fresh grass, and they were supplemented with organic feed. After 8 weeks and a lot of work, the birds were ready for processing. After slaughtering their first batch of 20 chickens, they got a chance to grill some next day. Rachid remembers vividly the look on his wife and his kids faces when they first tasted the chicken. Alhamdulillah, there was nothing like it and we never looked back at buying meat from Halal meat shops ever again!

A year later, Rachid was able to slaughter a grass-fed Black Angus and pastured raised chicken for his family and friends. Partnering with farmers who share our values, we were able to raise one hundred twenty pastured raised chickens and seven cows in 2018. Although our business has grown significantly since then, we are still working to keep up with the massive demand for halal local, high quality meats. But keeping up with this demand was a challenge especially for communities far away from the Middle Georgia area. Halal-N-Tayyib Meat Shares was launched and the first cow was sold in twenty four hours.

We made it our mission is to make Halal, ethical, organic grass-fed, nourishing, and sustainable meat available to health-conscience customersvin Georgia and hopefully to everyone in the United Sates Insha’Allah! At Halal-N-Tayyib, We give you direct access into where and how your meat was raised ― because when it’s raised right, it tastes better than anything you’ve ever had. Along with our local Georgia farmers, we are committed to raising animals that produce superior flavorful and ethical meat and we’re excited to bring this highest quality meats to your doorstep!

There are so many reasons why it is very important for us to opt out of the current abusive factory farming system. Therefore, we really need to know where our food comes from because we are what we eat! The same goes for the animals. They are what they eat! We should not only be concerned about what we eat, but what our food eats as well. Allah (SWT) commands us to eat food that is Halal (lawful) and Tayyib (wholesome, pure and good) for us! Eating Tayyib is just as important and deeply rooted in our Islamic principles as Halal. The food we feed our families should not be a mystery; we deserve the best in both flavor and health! We do not have to compromise between Halal and Tayyib. We can have both! Alhamdulillah, there is an alternative to this abusive system, and this is exactly what we are trying to do here Halal-N-Tayyib Meats Shares. We are dedicated to provide our community with the highest standards of Halal healthy meat that is not just good for us, but for the animals, the farmer, and the earth. Connect with us to learn about what make us different and to check how we can serve you Insha’Allah!

At Halal-N-Tayyib, we believe that eating wholesome Tayyib food is part of our Deen. We go beyond Halal and strive to abide by Allah’s commandments to enjoy that which is Tayyib because it is better for us. So we made it our mission to bring back the Tayyib concept to meat production just like it used to be straight from the the farm by building a community who is passionate about eating better meat and supporting local farms in a mutually beneficial way. We are dedicated to make authentic Halal grass-fed and pastured meats easily accessible at an affordable price for our community in Georgia and beyond. We assure you that the process is traceable and transparent from our farm to your table. We are all about providing truly ethical Halal (no-stunned hand slaughtered) and Tayyib meats straight from our farm to your doorstep. Our Halal pastured meat is everything you love about organic, and more. Tayyib for us encompasses all that which is good and wholesome including grass-fed, regenerative farming practices, and so much more! It does not relate only to how an animal is slaughtered, it has to do with the animal’s rights in Islam including its treatment, rearing, its health, and welfare. In a nutshell “Ehsaan” excellence in all that we do. We believe that pasture-raised organic and non-GMO grown food is without a doubt Tayyib and it is far BETTER for us! BETTER meat means fair prices for us and our like-minded partnering farmers, a more sustainable and ethical food system, and food that is healthier and taste even BETTER. Only meat that reaches this standard can be labeled Halal and Tayyib!

When you buy from us, you’re buying more than just meat; you’re showing your respect for the well-being of both animals and our planet and contributing to a system that is just and fair. Not only is our meat more flavorful and natural than anything you can find on the grocery shelves, but your purchase also supports sustainable agriculture. We would love the opportunity to become your farmer and bring this Tayyib meat to your kitchen.
