Hamid Marvi is an Associate Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU) and a Senior Global Futures Scientist. His research focuses on bio‑inspired robotics, soft robotics, and mechanics of materials, often drawing inspiration from nature to design innovative engineering solutions. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech and completed postdoctoral fellowships at Carnegie Mellon University and Georgia Tech. His work has been published in Science and PNAS and has been featured in outlets like the New York Times, Washington Post, and BBC.
