Hareem Khan, Ph.D., is a cultural anthropologist and Director of the Center for the Study of Muslim & Arab Worlds (CSMAW) at California State University, San Bernardino. Her research examines consumer cultures, gendered labor, racialization, and the ethnic beauty market in Los Angeles. She has conducted ethnographic studies on how modernity and identity are represented in advertising and aesthetic practices across Asia and the U.S. As both a scholar and leader, she bridges academic research with community engagement in Muslim and Arab world studies.
