Hina Azam is an Associate Professor of Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in Islamic law, theology, Qur’anic exegesis, hadith studies, and issues of women, gender, and sexuality in Islam. She also serves on the Graduate Studies Committees (GSC) for Middle Eastern Studies (MES) and Middle Eastern Languages & Cultures (MELC).
