Dr. Irum Sohail is a primary care physician board certified in internal medicine. She has a special interest in preventive care and management of chronic medical conditions. She is committed to ensuring continuity of care to help improve patient care, prevent disease and promote wellness. She enjoys working with all groups of patients ages 18 and above, with an emphasis on evidence-based medicine and clinical expertise well suited to their healthcare needs.
Dr. Sohail believes in being an advocate for her patients. Her focus is on integrated care and maintaining a comprehensive overview of her patients’ health. She likes to use personalized healthcare plans to predict, prevent and treat diseases.
Becoming a physician had always been a goal of Dr. Sohail’s since childhood. As a teenager, she would spend days with her uncle at his primary care clinic and volunteered at free medical clinics for underserved populations. This fed her devotion, motivation and desire to purse medicine.
She joins Inova Primary Care with more than two years of clinical experience in primary care.
