Locust Point Farm is a small family farm in the northeastern corner of Maryland, close to the Delaware state line, and twenty miles from Pennsylvania. We’ve been here since 1980 and are endeavoring to provide natural meat with no antibiotics or growth promotants added. Try our meat! You can taste the difference!
A few years after we moved, we began raising turkeys for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. A turkey needs about a week per pound, so to have a turkey for your Thanksgiving meal that weighs 20 pounds, it must be started in the month of June. This year our turkeys will be raised and processed on the home farm in Lancaster County. Therefore, the label on the fresh turkeys will be VALLEY BELLE. The turkeys are growing and getting ready for the holidays. We are accepting orders for Thanksgiving now.
We also began doing our own poultry processing on the farm. As our business grew, we moved on to getting approved for USDA processing, which is continuing today. The on-farm plant is processing mostly chicken now, which are raised on small farms in PA.
