Morteza Lahijanian is an Associate Professor in the Ann and H.J. Smead Department of Aerospace Engineering Sciences at CU Boulder, with a courtesy appointment in Computer Science. His research focuses on safe autonomy, robotics, motion planning, and formal methods, developing algorithms that ensure reliability and safety in autonomous systems. He earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University and previously worked at the University of Oxford and Rice University. Lahijanian is recognized for bridging control theory, game theory, and robotics to advance trustworthy autonomous technologies.
