Munther Younes is the Reis Senior Lecturer of Arabic Language and Linguistics at Cornell University, where he also directs the Arabic Program. He teaches a wide range of courses, from beginner to advanced Arabic, heritage speaker programs, Qur’anic Arabic, and modern literature. His research focuses on Arabic linguistics, comparative Semitic studies, and innovative methods for teaching Arabic as a foreign language. Before joining Cornell, he taught at the Defense Language Institute in California and worked in Jordan and Saudi Arabia. Younes has authored several textbooks and scholarly works, including RiHla ilaa Bilaad al-‘Arab (2021), which supports heritage learners of Arabic.
