Nadia L Abu El-Haj is an anthropologist at Columbia University where she holds the Ann Whitney Olin Professorship of Anthropology at Barnard College and co-directs the Center for Palestine Studies. Her research explores themes of war nationalism trauma race and settler colonialism with a focus on Israel Palestine and the Middle East. She is the author of Facts on the Ground and The Genealogical Science and also serves as Vice President and Vice Chair of the Board at the Institute for Palestine Studies in Washington DC.
