Niloufar Shirani is an Assistant Research Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Connecticut. She earned her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville before joining UConn in 2020. Her research focuses on traffic engineering, highway safety, and crash data analysis, with applications in transportation system evaluation. She works closely with the Connecticut Transportation Safety Research Center, contributing to projects that improve roadway safety and traffic management.
