Shahzad Bashir is a Professor of Islamic Studies at Stanford University, specializing in Islamic history, Persianate societies, and Sufism. His work explores memory, metaphor, and constructions of time in Islamic narratives, particularly in Persianate contexts from 1400–1600. He has also been recognized as a Carnegie Fellow for his contributions to Islamic humanities.
