She is an Associate Professor of American Culture at the University of Michigan, where she teaches courses on race, Blackness, Islam, anthropology, and popular culture. Beyond classroom teaching, she also mentors students, develops interdisciplinary projects, and integrates her scholarship with creative work like performance ethnography and digital humanities.
