Timur Kuran is a Turkish‑American economist and political scientist, currently serving as the Gorter Family Distinguished Professor of Islamic Studies, and Professor of Economics and Political Science at Duke University. He is best known for his work on preference falsification, Islamic law, and the economic history of the Middle East.
